Extrusion is the easiest way to create a body from a face or a closed sketch. Extrusion is a type of the main interaction of the Apple Pencil, the push and pull.
However, sometimes this interaction offsets a body (extrudes not only the face but also the attached features as well), and not just simply extrudes it. This video shows you the difference:
For the occasions, when you need a simple extrude, we have created the Extrusion tool.
In Extrude you have two parameters defining your final body:
- Draft angle: This is the amount of taper on your body (See example in Shapr3D below). A useful feature if you are preparing a body for injection molding.
The extrude flow
1. Tap on Tools > Extrude
2. Select a face or closed sketch (two arrows will pop up)
3. Set the length of the Extrusion with the straight arrows
4. Set the Draft angle with the rotate arrows
5. Tap on Done
