You can use the Translate tool to move any sketches, faces, or bodies in relation to a specific point. This is a precise method to shift a group of shapes from one specific point to another.
Follow these steps to translate geometries in your design:
- Go to Menu > Transform > Translate.
- Select the sketches, faces, or bodies that you want to translate.
- Select Next.
- Select to turn on the Copy badge if you want to translate a copy. The Copy badge changes to when selected.
- Select the start and end points of the desired movement. Both points snap to the grid, edges, or vertices.
In this example, the start point is the base of the bolt and the end point is the center of the open circle.
- Select Done.
💡Shortcut💡: If you first select the objects you want to translate, the menu is customized automatically. From this adaptive menu, go to More > Transform > Translate. When you’re done translating the objects, select Done.
