If you have 2D and 3D files that you want to see or modify in Shapr3D, you have several options to start the import:
-
Go to File > Import...
The Import window will appear, and you can choose the file. -
Click
from the title bar.
The Import window will appear, and you can choose the image file. - Drag and drop image file onto the Shapr3D app icon in the dock.
The following dialog will appear, and you can choose where you want to save the imported file. - Open your design, select Add and then File.
The source file you’ve imported will appear as a new item or item folder in your design space’s Items manager. If you imported a 3D model in STEP format, the hierarchical structure of the source model is retained in Shapr3D; so, the bodies that were grouped together in the same unit (assemblies, parts, components, etc.) are organized into nested folders in the Items manager.
Note: If you’re importing 3D models, make sure that your source file is not damaged or corrupt and your device has enough memory to process the import. The file should contain 3D geometry and the source model should fit the available design space in Shapr3D: 1 km3.
