Instead of scanning the app UI to look for tools, buttons, and switches, you can use the command search feature to find and run commands instantly.
There are several ways you can trigger a search:
- Go to Menu > Help > Search Commands, and type in words related to the command in the search box.
- Press the Command and F keys on the keyboard, and type in words related to the command in the search box.
- Start typing the name of the command on the keyboard.
The search box automatically shows all relevant commands. You can use the up and down arrow keys to cycle through the suggestions, and the right arrow key to auto-complete the text you entered. To clear the search or delete the typed text, simply press the Delete key or the X icon.
Once you find the command you want to run, you can either press the Return key or click the suggestion. If you want to close the command search without running the suggested command, just click outside of the search box or press the Escape key.
Command search isn't just a time saver—it's also smart. If you trigger the command search after selecting certain items in your design space, all commands that are applicable to your selection will automatically appear.
