You can create 3D bodies from faces and closed 2D sketches by pushing or pulling the faces and sketch fillings.
-
Select a closed sketch’s filling or a face.
-
There are two ways to create 3D bodies:
a. Drag the arrows to pull or push the sketch or face.
b. Directly type in the exact length of extrusion and press the Return key to finalize the dimension.
- Deselect the body by selecting the empty space or Deselect all.
When you’re pushing or pulling, you’re actually doing the same thing as these actions:
-
Extrude
From a closed sketch or a face with no adjacent fillets or chamfers, you can use the push or pull action to extrude your selected shape. -
Offset with adjacent fillets
If there’s a fillet on at least one of your edges, pushing or pulling the face will offset your body in a way that keeps the rate of the offset and extrudes all other parts. -
Create holes from closed sketches
If you create a closed sketch on a face, and select and pull it, you can create a hole in your body. -
Modify holes or cylinders
Select the non-planar face of the hole and pull it. You’ll notice that its radius changes as you pull.
