You can import mesh data to Shapr3D through our STL import capabilities. You can use your imported mesh data for the following:
- boolean operations with solid geometry (only for closed meshes)

Note 1: You can only use mesh boolean operations with closed mesh (solid mesh) bodies, not open mesh (sheet mesh)
Note 2: The end result of any boolean operation with a mesh body will be a mesh body, no matter if it is a subtract, intersect or union.
1. Import your mesh file
2. Create the cut body, by extruding a sketch (Note: you can use the mesh import as a cut body as well)
3. Go to the Subtract tool and subtract the cut body from your mesh
4. Hit Done, you are ready
Color and reference
If you have a part, or auxiliary mesh body you want to measure against your solid bodies, just import them, and test it. Color them for a better visuality.
Like in the case below, the grip of the hammer.
