If you want to transfer 2D sketches between AutoCad or other CAD software and Shapr3D, you need to make sure the sketches are in either DXF or DWG format, the two most common 2D CAD formats.
Follow the steps below to import 2D sketches into Shapr3D, so you can freely modify your sketches on your device.
- Export your 2D sketches from your CAD software in DWG or DXF format.
- Import the DWG or DXF file into Shapr3D.
A new project containing the imported sketches is saved in Shapr3D.
This drawing is from https://dwgmodels.com/. - Select Done.
- Open the Items manager and hide unnecessary items so your sketches are decluttered.
When you’re done sketching, you can also export your Shapr3D sketches in DWG or DXF format.
Note that not all geometry in folders is supported in Shapr3D if the DXF or DWG file has 3D elements, the geometry is corrupted, or the folder is empty.
