You can add construction planes so you can easily position a sketch or body on a specific plane, or use the plane as a mirroring plane.
The plane type is broken down into these:
-
Offset from Face
You can select a face, closed sketch filling, or a plane, and a new, parallel plane will appear. You can move the plane with the arrows. -
Parallel to Face at Point
Select a face, closed sketch filling, or a plane. When you place a point anywhere in your design space, a plane will be created there, parallel to the selection. -
Through Edge at Angle
Select a closed sketch or face’s edge or line, or an axis to create the plane. You can position your plane by adjusting the angle of rotation.
-
Perpendicular to Face at Point
Select an edge, line, or axis. When you place a point anywhere, a plane perpendicular to the selection will appear, with the point as its center.
-
Through 3 Points
Place three points in your design space, and a plane that includes all three points will be created.
-
Midplane
Select two faces or planes. A plane will be created in the middle.
-
Perpendicular to Curve at Point
Select a curve in a sketch. A plane will appear, with its center on the curve, and you can move it along the closed sketch.
