You can convert 2D sketches into construction geometry that act as a guide for complex sketches and models. This type of geometry is called a construction sketch.

To create a construction sketch, first start drawing a closed sketch or select an existing sketch. When you’re in sketching mode, the Sketch and Constraints menus will appear in the design space. Then, select Make Construction in the Constraints menu to convert the sketch into a construction geometry. You can revert the construction sketch into a regular sketch by selecting Make Regular. Unlike a regular sketch, a construction sketch does not have a sketch filling. So, you won’t be able to modify or use the geometry as you would with other tools in the app. For example, you can’t extrude the filling into a 3D body and you can’t select it when you use the Project tool. Note that construction sketches simply act as visual guides for you. They won’t be visible in your design when you export them from the app. |
