This is your guide to the Shapr3D design user interface.
Depending on your device, you’ll find the following main areas:

Top bar

Designs - Brings you to the Designs screen, where all your designs are stored. If you need to delete, duplicate, create, or import designs, you can do so from this screen.

Home - Brings you to the Discover screen, where all your designs are stored and Shapr3D news and videos are linked.

Sidebar - Opens the Items manager in the Sidebar. You can see all items — including sketches, 3D bodies, images, reference geometries, and meshes — in the design space, and organize them. If you’ve created 2D drawings, then they are stored in the Items manager, too.

Undo - Reverts the previous interaction. If you're using a keyboard, press Command + Z or Ctrl + Z.

Redo - Redoes the previous interaction. If you're using a keyboard, press Shift + Command/CTRL + Z.

Section view - Hides everything in front of the current grid so you can view a section of your design.

Snaps / Guides - Opens a popover where you can turn on or off snapping to the grid, sketch guide lines and points, and 3D guide points. You can also show guide points and snapping hints.

Help - Opens a popover with links to announcements about the latest new features, Manual, keyboard shortcuts, Shapr3D Forums, and tutorial videos. You can also trigger the command search from the popover and track your progress with basic tutorials.

Import - Offers you a list of file formats you can import: STEP, X_T, IGES, STL, SHAPR, SLDPRT, SLDASM, 2D DWG, 2D DXF, JPG, and PNG. You can also import images from your Files or Photos app or take a photo and immediately import that into Shapr3D.

Export - Opens the Export window, where you can save your design in various formats to use with other software, machines, and printers.

Sync - Enables Sync, where you can connect designs to your Shapr3D account and sync them across all your devices: Windows PCs and tablets, Macs, and iPads.

Share - Has a Share tab where you can create a Webviewer link that you can share with anyone, and an Export tab where you can export your designs

Units - The place to set your desired unit, lock your grid, and customize specific format settings with inches and degrees. This # icon also displays the current grid resolution of your design space, which changes according to the level of zoom.
Note: For macOS, you can lock your grid from the View menu in the Mac menu bar.

Views/Appearance - Opens the Views and Appearance tabs.
Views - Reset your view or select a predefined one.
Note: For macOS, options from the Views and Appearance tabs can be found in the View menu from the Mac menu bar.Appearance - Change to an orthographic or perspective view, and make your shapes transparent so you can see and select hidden edges. You can make it possible to rotate your design using two fingers. You can also visualize the surface curvature of your 3D model with horizontal or vertical zebra stripes.
Full Screen (Windows)- Enables full screen.
Command Search (Windows) - Opens the command search.

Orientation Cube - Changes the view orientation of your design.

Settings - Opens Settings.
Items Manager

Items - A panel that organizes your bodies, sketches, planes, axes, and images as items. You can rename, search, zoom, and delete your items.

Pin - Docks the Items manager to the screen. Select Unpin
to undock it.

Folder - Creates a new folder.

Sketches - Shows that the item is a sketch.

Bodies - Shows that the item is a body.
-
Planes and Axes - Shows that the item is either a plane or an axis.

Images - Shows that the item is an image.
-
Visibility - You can select this to display or hide the selected items in your design.

Mesh - Shows that the item is a mesh body.

Zoom to - You can zoom into the selected item.

Rename - You can rename the associated item.

Delete - You can delete the selected item.

More - Opens a popover with additional functions such as Zoom to Selection, View, Rename, Delete, and Isolate Item
