Sketch faster and manage your projects with more control. This release brings major performance improvements to sketching and new options for Dashboard sharing and storage.
Sketching performance upgrades
We’ve made large improvements under the hood to speed up common actions when working with sketches. If you’re working on large files, imported geometry, or DWG drawings, you’ll notice much faster interaction:
- Sketch plane selection is now significantly faster, even when working with repeated or patterned curves.
- Overlapping popovers now appear instantly when multiple curves are stacked—no delay.
- Temporary sketch planes activate up to 19× faster, reducing friction in workflows like sectional sketching or working on generated planes.
- Drawing and snapping on temporary planes now feels much more responsive in dense or imported environments.
- Moving large groups of sketches is up to 4× faster, which is especially helpful when repositioning imported 2D drawings.
- Importing DWG files with thousands of curves is now up to 25× faster, reducing wait times during complex imports.
- Opening workspaces that contain lots of sketches is up to 10× faster, depending on complexity.
Dashboard and storage updates
New: Storage optimization
Now you can turn storage optimization on or off in Settings for each device, controlling whether inactive projects are automatically removed from your device after 30 days while remaining stored in the cloud. This feature helps you save local storage space while keeping all projects accessible for re-download whenever needed.
Improved: Conflict resolution dialog
The Conflict Resolution dialog now shows who last edited the design. This gives you more context and makes it easier to decide which version to keep when resolving conflicts.
Improved: Share from the Dashboard
Now you can open the Share dialog directly from a project’s context menu in the Dashboard by right-clicking or secondary clicking the project. This saves you time when inviting teammates or creating Review Links.
Improved: Subscription type in team switcher
When switching teams in the team switcher, the subscription type is now shown next to each team name. You can immediately see if a team is on Basic, Pro, EDU, or Custom Plan which makes it easier to understand what features are available.
Fixed: Auto team switching for project links
Opening a project link in your browser and selecting “Open in Shapr3D” no longer shows an access error when another team is active. Shapr3D now switches to the correct team automatically if the project is shared with you, so you can access shared work without interruptions.
