Host or join a remote collaboration session

Work with remote teams seamlessly through Shapr3D’s collaboration features on Vision Pro. Review, edit, and discuss designs in real-time with participants in a shared virtual space, regardless of their physical location.

Requirements

Before starting or joining a remote session, make sure to:

  • Use the same Shapr3D Version: Ensure all Vision Pro devices are running the same version of Shapr3D which you can find under Settings or Preferences.
  • Ensure Shapr3D is open on all Vision Pro devices: Confirm that both the host and all participants have Shapr3D open on their Vision Pro devices for the session.
  • Connect to a stable Wi-Fi network: Ensure you have a stable internet connection to avoid issues during the collaboration.
  • Optional: Set up your Persona to show an accurate representation of yourself when joining a remote session.
    Note: If you don’t have a Persona setup, your default display facetime photo will appear as your avatar during the remote session.

Host a remote session

Hosting a remote session in Shapr3D on Vision Pro allows you to collaborate with team members in an immersive workspace. Using FaceTime integration, you can share your 3D model in real-time, enabling participants to view and interact with the design from their own Vision Pro devices.

To host a remote session:

  1. Open Shapr3D.
  2. Start a FaceTime call with the participants who will join the session.
  3. Once the participants are on the call, locate the top ornament in Shapr3D and then select Shared or Not Shared > Start Meeting.
  4. Once the participants accept the invitation, the immersive model should automatically appear in front of the participant’s avatar.

Join a remote session

Joining a remote session lets you experience a shared immersive 3D model in Shapr3D on Vision Pro. Once invited by the host via FaceTime, you can seamlessly enter the session and view or interact with the model, depending on the permissions granted.

To join a remote session:

  1. Open Shapr3D.
  2. Accept the FaceTime call from the host.
  3. Once you’re on the call, accept the Shapr3D invitation from the host.
  4. The immersive model should automatically appear in front of you and you can view or interact with the model depending on the permissions granted by the host.

Real-time interaction

  • During the remote session, participants can make design suggestions, or interact with the model depending on the permissions granted.
  • All updates happen live, so everyone in the session can see the changes as they occur.

Collaboration tips

  • Effective communication: Provide clear, direct feedback to participants by discussing design adjustments and observations.
  • Prepare participants: Before starting the session, encourage all participants to familiarize themselves with Vision Pro controls and gestures to help create a smooth, uninterrupted session for everyone.
