You can export your Shapr3D projects to use in other CAD software or share them with others.
Export your projects

From the design space, access the Export tool through any of the following:
- Select
> Export.
- Select Share > Export tab > Export Design.
- Select
- Choose between any of the available tabs to export your preferred format.
- All formats - Shows all recommended and other available formats
- 3D model - Formats compatible with 3D models such as .shapr, .x_t, or .step
- 3D print - Files compatible with 3d printing
- Sketch - Available sketch files such as .dwg and .dxf
- Drawing - Available drawing files such as .dwg or .dxf

Image - Available image files such as .png or .jpeg
Note: Depending on the file format you want to export, you can customize your project details.
- Select Export.
- In the Save As dialog, enter a file name and choose a location where you want to save your exported file.
- Select Save.
Export your projects

From the design space, access the Export tool through any of the following:
- Select Export
.
- Select Share > Export tab > Export Design.
- Select Export
- Select the Usage or Format tab:
- Usage - Select how you want to use your exported file.

Format - Directly choose a format for your exported file.
Note: Depending on the file format you want to export, you can customize your project details.
- Select Continue.

In the Save This File dialog, specify how you want to share the file:
- Save to Files
- Send via Mail
- Share with...
Export your projects

Access the Export tool through any of the following:
- From the Mac menu, select File > Export…
- From the design space, select Share > Export tab > Export Design.
- Select the Usage or Format tab:
- Usage - Select how you want to use your exported file.

Format - Directly choose a format for your exported file.
Note: Depending on the file format you want to export, you can customize your project details.
- Select Next.
- In the Save As dialog, enter a file name and choose a location.
- Select Save.
Project details
You can customize your projects when exporting with the following details:
- File name – Enter a name for your project.
- File Format/Output Format – You have several options: AP203, AP214, AP242, text, ASCII, and binary. The latter is the default format since it’s more common and compact.
- Include Dimensions – Any locked dimensions in your design will be preserved.
- Include Hidden Items – Turn on the switch if you want hidden items to be saved in the export.
- Include Mesh Bodies – Turn on the switch if you want mesh bodies to be saved in the export.
- Include Hidden Sketches – Turn on the switch if you want hidden sketches to be saved in the export.
- Include Vertex Colors – Turn on the switch if you want to preserve vertex colors in the export.
- Resolution: Set the quality of the export. If you want to set a custom resolution, you can set the deviation and angle tolerances.
- Save Each First-Level Item Separately – Turn on the switch if you want to export your project in separate, organized files. These files are then compressed into a ZIP file.
- Save Each Sketch Plane Separately – Turn on the switch if you want to export your project in separate, organized files. These files are then compressed into a ZIP file.
- Units – Set the unit of your export to millimeter, centimeter, meter, inch, or foot.
