Parameter Cards let you view and adjust tool settings directly in the modeling space. You can open, hide, and reposition cards while modeling, customize when they appear, and revisit saved parameters through History.
Note: Parameter Cards are currently available to a limited number of users. Stay tuned for updates.
What are Parameter Cards?
Parameter Cards provide access to the settings available for a tool directly in the modeling space. When you activate a tool, its essential parameters appear as on-canvas controls. You can open the full Parameter Card to access additional settings without leaving the active tool.
Parameter Cards are also available when you revisit previous modeling steps in History, allowing you to review or modify saved parameters.
How to use Parameter Cards
You can open a Parameter Card while using a tool to view and adjust its available settings.
- While inside a tool, select the active tool again to open its Parameter Card.
- Adjust the available parameters in the card. You can enter values, select options, or use the on-canvas controls.
Note: You can hide the Parameter Card again by selecting the active tool again. Hiding the card does not exit the tool. - To finish and exit the tool, click or tap anywhere in the modeling space.
Tip
For tools with multiple modes, you can press the tool's keyboard shortcut again while it's active to cycle through the available options. For example, pressing E again while using Extrude switches between Single-sided and Symmetric.
Customize Parameter Cards
You can change when Parameter Cards appear and move them to a convenient position in the modeling space.
Set Parameter Card visibility
By default, Parameter Cards open when you select the active tool. You can also choose to show them automatically when starting a tool or editing a History step.
To change when Parameter Cards appear:
- Open a Parameter Card.
- Select the visibility settings in the upper-right corner of the card.
- Choose when you want Parameter Cards to open. You can enable either option, both options, or neither option.
- Show on Tool Start – Automatically opens the Parameter Card when you activate a tool.
- Show on History Edit – Automatically opens the Parameter Card when you edit a step in History.
Move Parameter Cards
Drag a Parameter Card to reposition it in the modeling space. On iPad, you can also drag the card offscreen to hide it and drag it back when needed.
Edit parameters in History
Tool parameters are saved in History, so you can revisit previous steps and modify their settings. Changes to an earlier History step can affect subsequent steps in your model.
To edit parameters from History:
- Open the History sidebar.
- Select the step you want to edit to automatically open the parameter card.
- Adjust the available parameters.
- To finish, click or tap anywhere in the modeling space.
