Experience better model definition in wireframe views and expanded placement options for AR:
Better model definition in Wireframe and Section View
The Wireframe display mode now includes silhouettes, giving edges and outlines a clearer definition across all geometry. This makes it easier to read the overall shape and structure of your model, especially in complex designs where edges alone can be hard to follow.
In the image below, Wireframe mode is active on a multi-body cylindrical assembly, showing how silhouettes now outline the overall form for a clearer read of the geometry. Unlike real edges, silhouette edges can't be selected and used for editing. Silhouette edges are there purely to help you read the boundary of the geometry.
Silhouettes are also now rendered around the solid faces created by Section View, making it easier to see exactly where different bodies meet during internal design reviews.
Before and after
In the image below, Section View is active on a multi-body assembly. Without silhouettes on the capping faces, the boundaries between touching bodies can easily blend into the surrounding geometry.
With silhouettes now rendered around the solid faces created by Section View, the outline of each body is clearly defined, making it easier to see exactly where different bodies meet.
Vertical surface snapping for AR
On iPadOS, AR mode now supports snapping and placing models directly onto vertical surfaces. This expands your ability to visualize designs in real-world contexts beyond floors and tabletops, allowing you to preview items like wall-mounted fixtures or vertical assemblies with greater stability and precision.
